Travis Millman brings over 30 years of startup experience to every client engagement. As the founder of Valley of Death Partners, he leverages his unique perspective from building, scaling, and exiting multiple deep tech ventures. Travis works directly with every Valley of Death Partners client to hone strategy, minimize risk, and accelerate venture development.
Over the past decade, Travis has guided dozens of early-stage startups through critical commercialization challenges as a coach, mentor, judge, and entrepreneur-in-residence at ELabNYC, Accelerator for Biosciences in Connecticut, and CNY Biotech Accelerator. He's also served in university-based innovation ecosystems at UCONN, Colgate, Cornell, Yale, and the University of Oregon.
His operational experience includes founding roles at Audible.com, Readia, and Neuvotion; leadership positions at Pearson, Soliloquy Learning, and Deliberate.ai; and consulting roles at Philips Healthcare and Samsung NEXT. Travis' expertise spans the entire startup journey: opportunity assessment, customer discovery, product development, team building, fundraising, and scaling. Most importantly, everything Travis and Valley of Death Partners do for its clients is tailored to the rapidly evolving needs of every startup or innovation project they serve.
Travis graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College and received a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. He currently splits his time between Dobbs Ferry, NY and the Hudson Valley.
